SAVOY Dynasty

The Savoy Dynasty's origins can be traced back to the early 11th century. Named after the historically significant Savoy region, which progressively became a pivotal historical, military, and cultural center in Italy, the dynasty was founded by the influential and equitable ruler Umberto I, known as "Biancamano." His successors were distinguished by their bravery and enlightenment, demonstrating their capabilities as warriors, patrons of the arts, just rulers, and astute diplomats. The mission of their life was the unification of all Italian states under the Savoy scepter.

Significant progress towards this unification was achieved by Victor Emmanuel II, often referred to as "Padre della Patria" (Father of the Fatherland) and recognized as the founder of modern Italy. He strategically surrounded himself with insightful advisors who left an enduring legacy on world history. Victor Emmanuel II implemented substantial economic and political reforms, initiating the era of industrialization. He oversaw the development of railways and roads and dismantled the remnants of feudalism. Furthermore, he demonstrated his strategic acumen as a talented general.
